The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) on Tuesday said farmers would lay siege to the office of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd. (CNNL) near Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) in Srirangapatna on Wednesday in protest against the State governments’ alleged apathy towards farmers.

At a press meet here on Tuesday, KRRS leader K.S. Puttannaiah demanded that the State government come out with a White Paper on modernisation of all canals under the KRS. Modernisation of all canals should be done by May-end he said and urged the authorities not to hire people from other districts for the work.
