The 7{+t}{+h}Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Saturday granted conditional bail to BJP State president K.S. Eshwarappa in connection with a complaint filed against him for giving a call for Karnataka bandh in January.

Mr. Eshwarappa appeared before the magistrate on Saturday. The advocate for Mr. Eshwarappa submitted to the Court that his client had only exercised his constitutional right to protest.

After the hearing, the magistrate granted bail to Mr. Eshwarappa on the condition that he should attend the court on the date of hearing in future, and adjourned further hearing to August 27.

Advocate Dharmapal Gowda had filed the complaint against Mr. Eshwarappa alleging that the he had violated the Supreme Court order in giving a call for Karnataka bandh in January. The bandh call was given against the the Governor for granting sanction to prosecute Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa.
