GULBARGA: State BJP president K.S. Eshwarappa will visit Gulbarga on Saturday. He will participate in a meeting of office-bearers of all district party units, legislators and Ministers in the Hyderabad Karnataka region to finalise strategies for elections to the gram panchayats and cooperative societies.

District unit president of the BJP Rajkumar Patil Telkur, State general secretary Amarnath Patil, and city unit president Vijaykumar Sevalani told presspersons here on Wednesday that Mr. Eshwarappa would get a rousing welcome.

Mr. Telkur said the meeting would also discuss organisational matters and how to strengthen the party at the grassroots. Strategies such as organising agitations against the Union Government on issues like price rise would also be discussed.

Pressure on Centre

He said the meeting would also discuss the ways to put pressure on the Union Government into giving up its plan to accept the Ranganath Mishra Commission report. Mr. Eshwarappa, along with S.H. Katti, the newly appointed national council member, and newly appointed general secretaries of the party Mr. Patil and Raghunath Malkapure, would be taken in a procession from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Chowk to the Veerashaiva Kalyana Mantapa where a felicitation had been organised, Mr. Telkur added.
