Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Revenue K.S. Eshwarappa on Thursday reiterated that the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will not hold his proposed rally in Haveri and expressed confidence that the party would face the next election united.

“I am sure you will call me to tell about the cancellation of the Haveri rally. The party has come to power under mass leadership…It will face elections with all the good works done by two former Chief Ministers — Mr. Yeddyurappa and Mr. Sadananda Gowda — and the present Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar,” he said.

Mr. Eshwarappa was speaking to presspersons after releasing the book, ‘Treaties of Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964 (Chapter 9, 10 and 11)’, authored by Shimoga-based M.R. Satyanarayana at the Advocates’ Association, Bangalore.

Earlier, addressing the advocates, Mr. Eshwarappa said that though he cannot make a promise to bring in major amendments to revenue laws before the next elections in March-April, he promised he would bring in any change that calls for early amendment to help the public.

He requested the association to deliberate on this issue and make suggestions where applicable to the government.
