Hubli: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Jagadish Shettar has called upon educational institutions to provide the best education to students so as to prepare them to become globally competitive individuals and play constructive roles in the socio-economic empowerment of the nation. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a mega educational expo organised by Rotary International here on Friday. The event attracted a large number of students from the twin cities of Hubli and Dharwad and adjoining areas. Later, KPCC president R.V. Deshpande cautioned students and parents against private educational institutions that have established schools and colleges with an intention to make a quick buck, even as he pointed out that the contemporary world had become more competitive where customer satisfaction was the most important and institutions providing education should ensure quality in their service.

He called upon voluntary and social organisations to lead a campaign against those institutions that have been exploiting gullible parents and students to make quick money under the pretext of providing education. These institutions can create awareness against all such institutions which do not provide quality education, he said.
