HUBLI: Authorities of the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation on Thursday cleared several encroachments that had come up on pavements in the busy market areas in the twin cities.
Although the Corporation had cautioned the vendors and petty shop owners against encroaching on the pavements, in several areas the petty shops and temporary structures had reappeared.
On Thursday, the HDMC staff removed the petty shops and other encroachments over the pavements and confiscated them.
The clearance drive was conducted at Durgadabail near Butter Market, New Myadar Oni, Javali Sal and adjacent areas.
The HDMC has said that it would continue the drive and anyone encroaching the pavements would be strictly dealt with.
