BANGALORE: A 65-year-old man was murdered allegedly by his son at Attur Layout in Yelahanka Police Station limits on Tuesday night. The accused voluntarily surrendered before the police later.
The victim, Anjanappa, was married to three women. The accused, Harish (28), was the son of Anjanappa's third wife. Harish had been staying in a house in Chintamani. Anjanappa wanted Harish to vacate the house because he wanted to give it to his other children, the police said.
Tired of his father's repeated pleas, Harish took his father to a bar.
Then he asked his father to get on to his motorcycle to drop him at his sister's place at Ramagondanahalli. While on the way, Anjanappa asked his son to stop the vehicle to answer nature's call. When he was doing so, Harish took a brick and hit Anjappa on his head. He then allegedly stabbed his father on the neck and stomach, the police said.
Harish abandoned his father's body and came to the police station. He complained to the police that six persons had stabbed his father. During the investigation, the police found that Harish had been telling a false story. Harish admitted the offence and narrated the circumstances leading to the offence.
An alert domestic help foiled a theft bid in a house in Rajajinagar 6th Block in Magadi Road police station limits on Tuesday night.
Prasanna Kumar, an advocate, and his wife working with KSRTC, left the house in the morning. They had asked Jaya, a domestic help, to take care of their three-year-old daughter at home.
It was in the evening that Shiva, a resident of Konanakute, came to the house stating that he had been called to repair the television. Jaya allowed him to carry out repair work while she did her routine chores in the house. Shiva then took a cutter, held it against the back of Jaya and threatened her to give keys of the safe.
