A State-level five-day historical drama festival was launched at Siddapur Shankarmath Hall on Sunday under the auspices of Rangasouganda in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Culture.

Karnataka Nataka Academy president Malathi Sudhir, who inaugurated the festival, said that Hulimane Seetaram Shastri’s contribution to theatre was invaluable.

Shrinivas Kappanna, who was the chief guest, said that the former Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde took interest to spread Kannada culture throughout the nation.
