The Don Bosco Rehabilitation Centre for Child Labourers and School Dropouts was inaugurated at Bablad, on the outskirts of the city, by the Bishop of Gulbarga diocese, Robert Miranda, on Sunday.

The centre is the extension of Don Bosco PYaR (Programme for Young at Risk), a voluntary organisation serving poor children and youth here since 2002. The Don Bosco PYaR has been implementing various projects for the integral development of underprivileged children and youth.

Don Bosco PYaR provides shelter for the rehabilitation of child labourers and school dropouts. The Sarva Shikshan Abhiyan and Bangalore Rural Education and Development Society are also partners in this venture.
