‘Reschedule trains coming from Manmad junction'

Bidar: The Bidar Chamber of Commerce and Industry has sought diversion of a New Delhi-bound train from Hyderabad so that it runs via Vikarabad, Bidar, Udgir, Manmad, Nagpur so that it would help people of Bidar to take a direct train to the capital city.

President of the Bidar Chamber of Commerce and Industry B.G. Shetgar submitted a memorandum in this regard to M.V. Jayanth, General Manager of the South Central Railway, here on Friday. Mr. Jayanth was in Bidar to inspect railway facilities in Bidar and other railway stations in the section.

Mr. Shetgar pointed out that for the people of Bidar district there was no direct train facility to New Delhi. “Either we have to go to Hyderabad or Gulbarga to take a train to New Delhi”.

There are a number of trains running to New Delhi from Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and one of the trains can be diverted to run via Bidar to help the passengers in this region, he said in the memorandum.

The other demand was for a daily inter-city train between Hyderabad and Bidar. At present at least 30 government buses ply between Hyderabad and Bidar every day besides a number of private vehicles.

The people of Bidar are fully dependent on Hyderabad for all their requirements, including healthcare facility. So if there is an inter-city train, it will help the people of the district, Mr. Shetgar argued.

Mr. Shetgar also demanded the Railways to reschedule the timings of the trains from Manmad Junction going towards Hyderabad through Bidar city.

The memorandum said if the trains reached Bidar after 6 a.m., it would enable passengers from Bidar to take the train to Hyderabad.
