Detailed survey of workers in various sectors to be carried out

Deputy Commissioner Sameer Shukla has said that the district-level economic census will be held here from June 1 to 30.

Chairing a meeting here on Wednesday, he said a detailed survey of workers in various sectors would be carried out.

The census staff would visit the households of agriculturists, non-agriculturists, labourers, working class, and those in the organised sector and unorganised sector to collect information, he said.

Mr. Shukla said district and taluk-level coordination committees had been formed and officers were appointed to carry out the census smoothly.

While the Deputy Commissioner will be the ex-officio census Commissioner for urban and rural areas, the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation Commissioner will be the ex-officio census Commissioner in-charge of HDMC limits.

Mr. Shukla said arrangements had been made and information related to economic census had been collected.

‘Appoint supervisors’

He instructed the in-charge officials to appoint supervisors in their respective jurisdictions and told the Superintendent of Police, Ravi Kumar Y.S., to issue instructions to all police stations to assist the census officials.

He told the officials in charge to take utmost care and ensure that the census report had no loopholes.
