With the rain abating in the catchment areas of the Krishna, both in Maharashtra and Karnataka, the discharge from the Rajapur barrage (at the Karnataka-Maharashtra border) into the river was reduced by more than 20,000 cusecs on Saturday.

According to official sources here, the discharge from the barrage was at 1,35,668 cusecs on Saturday as against 1,56,378 cusecs on Friday.

The discharge from the Alamatti dam across the Krishna on Saturday was at 2,25,000 cusecs.

The storage in the dam was 106 tmcft as against the maximum capacity of 123.016 tmcft.

The storage in the Hidkal dam across the Ghataprabha in Hukkeri taluk was 35.26 tmcft as against the maximum capacity of 51 tmcft.
