H.D. Deve Gowda, Janata Dal (Secular) supremo, took strong objection to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh discussing terrorist activities allegedly carried out by Pakistan and Pakistan-trained militants in the U.S.. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Deve Gowda said it was not in good taste to approach the U.S. for disputes between the two countries. Referring to the contradictory statements given by the AICC president Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi on the ordinance on tainted leaders, Mr. Gowda said both had attended the core committee meeting and witnessed the proceedings. Then what had prompted them to issue contradictory statements over the issue and misguide the people of the country, he asked. Referring to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s remark on the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Gowda said no one was sure whether such an incident had taken place. “Do not get carried away by such versions,” he said.
