For Sunil Sarkar, depicting strength and movement on a canvas is a challenge that he likes to approach from different angles. His solo exhibition at the Alliance Francaise de Bangalore, is a collection of artworks capturing a bull and the movements of a gymnast. The exhibition titled ‘The art of movement’ is on till May 28.

According to Mr. Sarkar, charcoal is an amazing media that can work wonders and especially so if one is trying to draw a bull.

While he has used soft pastels and acrylic paints, his charcoal works are his favourite.

Mr. Sarkar studied fine arts at the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship in Kolkata and his works have been exhibited at different galleries across India. “But Bangalore is a lucky city for me as I still have some of my works on display at some renowned galleries here,” said the Kolkata-based artist.

The exhibition is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For details, visit www.habitart.in
