The celebrations will extend over six days

MANGALORE: The Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy, which is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and is a unit of Nitte Education Trust, will celebrate its decennial year with a series of programmes over six days beginning on Friday.

The programmes will include a seminar "Towards global standards in physiotherapy" during the inaugural function, a physiotherapy exhibition, a State inter-physiotherapy college quiz competition and a rural physiotherapy camp.

Principal of the institute Sreekumaran told presspersons here that Minister for Medical Education V.S. Acharya would inaugurate the event on Friday. Ali Irani, former physiotherapist of the Indian cricket team and president of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) would be the guest of honour.

President of the Nitte Education Trust N. Vinay Hegde would preside over the function, he added.

A rural physiotherapy camp will be held on the premises of Falah Education Institution at Talapady near here on Sunday.

The celebrations will end with the institute's College Day and Graduation Day on February 27 and February 28.
