The Belgaum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged Deputy Commissioner Munish Moudgil to reopen the passport service office in Belgaum city.

BCCI office-bearers led by its president Satish Tendulkar met Mr. Moudgil here on Tuesday and said that individuals seeking passport have to travel to Hubli as the office in Belgaum had closed down more than two years ago.

This has caused a lot of hardship to people, Mr. Tendulkar said.

He said despite Belgaum being the second biggest district after Bangalore and the headquarter of Belgaum revenue division, there was no passport office and people were forced to travel 100 km to Hubli.
