MYSORE: Activists of the Karnataka Rajya Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (KRDSS) staged a dharna in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner here on Wednesday urging the Government to waive loans taken by Dalits from the Ambedkar Development Corporation (ADC).

Addressing the activists, the convener of the district unit of the samiti, Devagalli Somashekar, urged the Government to waive loans borrowed by Dalits from the ADC on the lines of farm loan waiver scheme.He urged the Government to nullify the order which made it mandatory for Dalit students to secure a minimum of 60 per cent for scholarship.

The Government should distribute at least five acres of land to each Dalit family, he said.
