HASSAN: An eight-member gang of dacoits entered the house of Appaswamy Gowda of Kyanahalli in Sakleshpur on Friday and assaulted the residents. They took away Rs. 65,000 cash and gold ornaments worth Rs. 4.5 lakh.

Superintendent of Police K.V. Sharatchandra told The Hindu from Kyanahalli that the dacoits were wearing balaclavas, shirts and trousers and were aged between 25 and 30.

They spoke Hindi, Kannada and Telugu.

They first assaulted Appaswamy Gowda and his son with an iron rod.
