Steps to be taken to improve Indira Glass House, Sanjivini Park and Chandramouleshwar temple
HUBLI: Visitors to Nrupatunga Hill from now onwards will get to enjoy cultural programmes there every Sunday.
This initiative has been planned by the district administration in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture. The celebrations were inaugurated by Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Jagadish Shettar on Sunday. A sum of Rs. 1 crore has been spent on beautifying the hill.
The Minister said steps were being taken to develop Indira Glass House, Sanjivini Park, Chandramouleshwar Temple and Navaluru Hill, as picnic spots.
Chairman of the Karnataka Border Areas Development Authority and MLA Chandrakanth Bellad said steps had been taken to develop the Kelageri tank in Dharwad and the Neerasagar reservoir at Dummawada.
Deputy Commissioner Darpan Jain and Chairman of the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation Mallikarjun Savakar were present.
A performance by Shehnai artiste Basavaraj Hediggonda was staged. Later, “Sugam Sangeet” artiste Y. Kashanna Gawai performed.
