CSI Commerce College, Dharwad, emerged as the overall champion in the two-day youth festival for degree colleges of the twin cities hosted by Sri Kadasiddheshwara Arts and H.S. Kotambri Science Institute. The festival concluded on Saturday.

JSS College of Dharwad was the overall runner-up in the festival, which saw participation from more than 410 students in various competitions.

Speaking at the valedictory function, Director of Students' Welfare of Karnatak University C. Ramesh called on the students to participate in competitions determined to win, but also not to get disheartened on losing.

On Friday, inaugurating the youth festival, Karnatak University Vice-Chancellor H.B. Walikar had termed the festival as the best platform to hunt for talent among students. Stressing on the need for quality education, Prof. Walikar asked teachers to work towards achieving this objective and said the university had come out with programmes to encourage research activities.
