The KRS Cricket Academy, Katapady, in association with Udupi District Cricket Association and Manipal University, would organise Udupi district-level inter-high school cricket tournament in Manipal on Sunday.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Vasu Sherigar, president of KRS Cricket Academy, said 24 high schools would participate in the tournament, which would be played on knockout basis. The 25-over-a-side matches would be played at MIT Grounds and End Point Grounds in Manipal.

An entry fee of Rs. 500 had been collected from each of the 24 participating teams. Nagendra Madhyastha, Deputy Director of Physical Education (DDPI), would inaugurate the tournament, while former Test cricketer Syed Kirmani will attend the valedictory on April 20, Mr. Sherigar said.

Praveenchandra, chairman of the tournament committee, Ganesh Kamath, vice-president of KRS Cricket Academy, and Uday Kumar Y., secretary, were present.
