HUBLI: After a brief respite, the Hubli-Dharwad Police Commissionerate has once again intensified the drive against vehicle owners violating traffic rules and regulations in the twin cities.

On Thursday, the police have registered 980 cases of traffic rule violations in the twin cities, with a majority of them being for riding two-wheelers without wearing the protective headgear.

Spot fine

Through the drive, the police collected a spot fine of Rs. 1.04 lakh from the offenders. Commissioner of Police Narayan Nadamani, in a press release, said the drive against the traffic rule violations would continue.

The police would fine those who talk over mobile phones while driving, according to the presss release.
