National general secretary of the Communist Party of India(CPI) Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy has said that there will be no pre-poll alliance with regional parties for the Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy ruled out any pre-poll alliance with regional parties but said that the Left parties would fight the elections together.

He said that in the post-electoral period, the Left parties would discuss with the regional parties to help bring a “united front” to power by keeping the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress at bay.

He said that a non-BJP and non-Congress platform was necessary now as people are worried whether a communal force will come to power.

He said that the United Progressive government at the Centre is responsible for the economic disaster in the country and people want the Congress to be removed while, at the same time, they do not want the BJP to come to power.

Immediately after the elections a non-BJP and non-Congress platform will emerge, he added.
