BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday sought to know from the State Government what action it proposed to take on the Lokayukta report on illegal mining.

It also sought to know on whether the statutory authorities, who had taken action against mining companies in Bellary following the Lokayukta report, would give an opportunity of hearing to the companies.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice P.D. Dinakaran and Justice V.G. Sabhahit made this observation when it was hearing “green” cases.

Advocate-General Uday Holla said he would ascertain the position from the Government and place it before the court.
