Bangalore: A couple was injured when a gas cylinder burst at their house in Indiranagar, near Basaveshwara Nagar, here on Tuesday. Kemparaju (36), a painter, and his wife, Kalavathi (30), were the victims.
The incident occurred due to a leakage in gas pipe around 11.30 a.m.
The victims managed to come out of the house.
The public admitted them to a hospital and doused the fire, said an official of Basaveshwaranagar police station.
Further investigations are on in this connection.
A motorbike-borne miscreant snatched a chain worth Rs. 13,000 from Sunitha, a resident of Bommanahalli BTM Layout 2nd stage at 8.45 p.m. on Monday. Sunitha was returning from the bus stand when the accused accosted her near ICICI Bank and committed the crime, said the Madivala police. In another incident, Kalavathi, a resident of Lower Palace Orchards near Sadashivanagar, lost a gold chain worth Rs. 35,000 at the KSRTC bus-stand on Monday night. She boarded a KSRTC bus at Anekal and a miscreant snatched her chain when the bus reached the bus-stand here, said the Upparpet police.
A gold chain worth Rs. 80,000 and Rs. 600 in cash was stolen from a vanity bag of a woman in a BMTC bus on Tuesday.
Meenambika, a resident of Vyalikaval, kept the valuables in her bag and boarded the crowded bus at Mekhri Circle around 1.30 p.m. The victim lost the valuables en route, the Vyalikaval police said.
