Selected for basketball camp
Sowkin Shetty, a student of St. Aloysius Pre-University College and a member of the Mangalore Basketball Club, is the lone candidate from Karnataka to be selected for the India Junior (U-18) national coaching camp to be held at the SAI centre in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The camp, which started on Monday and that will be held till October 28, would select players to represent the Indian Junior team in the Asian junior basketball championship to be held at China in 2014, a release said.
Seva Dal to host medical camp
DK District Congress Seva Dal will organise a free medical camp at Surathkal Central Maidan on Thursday starting 9 a.m. Addressing presspersons on Tuesday, H.M. Ashraf, district chief organiser of the Dal, said national, state and district-level leaders are expected to participate in the camp.
