Bidar: Bidar Zilla Panchayat president Naseemoddin Patel has urged the people of the district to provide correct and complete information to Census enumerators who visit their homes. “Please treat enumerators with courtesy. Don't treat them as if they are a nuisance. Give them all the information they need as there are there to help you,” he said.

“Most enumerators are moving around in the hot sun collecting data that will help governments build a strong social security system. All development works in the next 10 years will be based on this data. People should realise that this is a nation-building exercise and cannot be done without their cooperation,” he said in a release.

The first phase of Census work started from April 12 and will end on May 27. This will include house listing, house census and preparation of the national population registry. The second phase starting from February 9 to 28 next year, will include review of the data.

Bidar City Municipal Council Commissioner S.R. Garwad has urged residents to inform the CMC authorities in case their buildings had not got temporary Census numbers yet. Additional Deputy Commissioner S.S. Pujar said people could register a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner's office regarding the Census by calling 1077.
