Shimoga: Congress leader and president of the Shimoga District Cooperative Central Bank (SDCCB) R.M. Manjunath Gowda said here on Tuesday that he would join the BJP “unconditionally” at a function to be held here on Wednesday.

He told presspersons that nearly five thousand workers of the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular), including the former chairman of the Shimoga APMC K.L. Jagadishwar and the former president of the Shimoga District Cooperative Union Umblebylu Mohan would join the BJP..

“I was totally sidelined. No concern was shown for my political sway in parts of Tirthahalli, Hosanagar and Sagar taluks. If there is any party which does not encourage the capabilities of its workers, it is only Congress,” he said.
