There is a massive upsurge in support for the party in H-K region: Rao
GULBARGA: K. Keshav Rao, All-India Congress Committee observer, said on Friday that the enthusiasm among party leaders and workers in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region proved that the Congress was back on track.
Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Rao claimed that there was a massive upsurge in support for the party in the region.
Mr. Rao said that he was confident that the party would gain majority in the Assembly elections and return to power in the State.
On his role in the selection of party candidates, Mr. Rao said: “My work is basically troubleshooting and I carry forward the views expressed by party workers to the high command.”
Mr. Rao claimed that the Congress would win most of the 13 Assembly segments in the district.
He said that the situation was conducive for the Congress to wipe out the Opposition parties in the district. The district had senior leaders such as M. Mallikarjun Kharge and N. Dharam Singh, who would help in the selection of party candidates. He said that the Congress was ready to face the assembly elections in the State confidently.
