Azad Nagar councillor Gowramma, arrested in connection with the murder of RTI activist Lingaraju, has been remanded in police custody till Saturday. She was picked up by the city police from Tanjore and brought to Bangalore on Wednesday.

The police said she allegedly arranged the money for the contract killing by pawning her valuables, and has been charged with conspiracy.

Custody extended

The Lokayukta court extended the judicial custody of Sudhamanagar councillor Avvai to December 17. She was trapped while accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000 from a roadside idli seller as protection money.
