Bangalore: A couple of brief spells of rain on Tuesday brought with it a distinct drop in temperature in the city much to the relief of Bangaloreans who were fast beginning to tire of the heat.
According to officials at the meteorological centre, conditions are now favourable for the onset of the Northeast monsoon.
“The Southwest monsoon has withdrawn in parts of interior Karnataka and we can expect the Northeast monsoon in the State in the next three or four days,” the official said. The onset of the Northeast monsoon over Tamil Nadu occurs in the third week of October.
This is the rainiest month for Karnataka which experiences thundershowers as the wind direction changes from the southwest direction.The city received 6.7 mm of rainfall on Tuesday while Yelahanka received over three times that amount at 19.4 mm.
The city can expect cloudy weather with rain or thundershowers in the next 48 hours.
