Bangalore: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Govind M. Karjol on Friday informed the Legislative Assembly that he would convene a meeting of all cement manufacturers in the State to discuss the steep rise in prices of cement.

Replying to P.G.R. Sindhia, the Minister said the Government was not blind to the problem.

Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to reign in cement manufacturers as prices were skyrocketing. — Staff Reporter
