On World No Tobacco Day, various hospitals and public health organisations have planned various events and campaigns to raise awareness about the adverse effects of tobacco products.

The Karnataka Cancer Society and Global Vision, Bangalore, will conduct a three-day free dental and oral cancer check-up camp at No 1308, 11th B Cross, Vyalikaval, Bangalore, from May 28.

There will also be a poster designing competition and an exhibition of posters and pictures depicting the adverse effects of the use of tobacco.

Meanwhile, BGS Global Hospitals, in association with Tusker Harley Davidson, will conduct a “Bikeathon” on May 26. The hospital will also conduct de-addiction programmes on its premises and at various corporate offices between May 27 and May 31.
