KOLAR: The reported rift in the Kolakata-based Ananda Marga came to the fore on Tuesday when Acharya Pranananda and some old students of the Ananda Marga Polytechnic at Santhenahalli on the outskirts of Malur in Kolar district, barged into the institution and damaged furniture and equipment. They also manhandled the inmates. Mr. Pranananda was appointed as principal of the institution in place of the present incumbent Animishananda. However, Mr. Animishananda reportedly refused to hand over charge to Mr. Pranananda leading to the attack. Several people, including Animishananda, secretary Rathindranath Avadhoot were injured in the incident. The police have arrested Mr. Pranananda and some old students in connection with the incident.
