100 branches computerised
MYSORE: Deputy Commissioner S. Selvakmar on Thursday inaugurated the Mysore branch of City Union Bank Ltd.
It is the 146th branch of the bank and the first in the city. In a press release issued here, the bank said that it had deposits to the tune of Rs. 3,600 crore and branches in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, New Delhi and Pondicherry.
The bank was established in 1904 as part of the Swadeshi movement. There were plans to open five more branches in various States shortly, the release said. It said that 99 branches had been computerised. The bank had entered into a tie-up with Tata Consultancy Services to implement core-banking solutions covering all branches, and 100 branches had been networked.
Branch manager K. Venkatakrishnan, general manager G.K. Balasubramanian, chairman and chief executive officer S. Balasubramaniyan, and president of the Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry H.N. Ramatirtha were present.
