A heavily indebted software engineer hanged himself in his house in Mahadevapura on Thursday.

Police said Pushparaj (27), native of Tirupur, worked for Accenture and lived in Garudacharpalya with friends and relatives.

His body was discovered by one of his kin.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Pushparaj had borrowed heavily from friends, pledging even his girlfriend’s valuables, which led to a fight and their breakup.

Security guard too

A security guard with a private firm hanged himself at his home in Nandini Layout on Thursday.

Revanna (60), a resident of Someshwaranagar, was alone as his wife was away in her native place.

Kumar, a relative, dropped by and saw Revana hanging.

Police said that Revanna had taken a loan of Rs. 50,000 from his friends, which he was unable to repay. Recently, one of his creditors had created a ruckus and Revanna’s son sought time to return the amount.

Police believe a humiliated Revanna chose to end his life.

Teen ends her life

A second year PU student hanged herself in Subramanyapura police station limits after her mother refused to give her pocket month.

The 17-year-old was the daughter of a garment factory employee and a wall painter.

Police said the girl was reprimanded by her mother when she asked Rs. 15 from her as pocket money. Instead, the mother asked her to study well and clear her exams. The dejected teen hanged herself when her parents left for work.

A little later, neighbours saw her body hanging and called the police.
