More than 500 members of the CITU were arrested on the second day of the two-day all-India strike called by 11 trade unions in Tumkur district on Thursday. They were released in the evening. District president of the CITU Syed Mujeeb said that 250 protesters were arrested near BSNL office when they tried to lay a siege to the office. About 250 agitators were arrested in Pavagada when they tried to block the road.
