The participants of Chinnara Mela, an annual summer camp for children by Rangayana here, will be staging plays during a five-day Children’s Theatre Festival at Vanaranga on the Rangayana premises from Tuesday.

Writer Boluvaru Mohammad Kunhi will inaugurate the theatre festival. Rangayana Ranga Samaj member D. Saraswathi will be chief guest and Rangayana Director H. Janardhana (Janni) will preside.

The artistes from Rangayana trained the children in staging plays. In total, 10 Kannada plays directed by different theatre personalities and artistes will be staged during the festival. Two plays will be staged daily at 6.30 p.m.

Plays

Snehada Bala and Hogi Banni Bodhisatvare will be staged on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Buddasala Vruksha and Mugda Ane will be presented. Chinnada Navilu and Marali Buddha Nadege will be staged on Thursday. Another group of children will be staging Maitri and Navilina Paata on Friday.

On the concluding day of the festival, Mahaa Bojana and Ahimsaka will be staged, a press release said.

Srinivasa Bhat, Mr. Janardhan and Devanand Varaprasad have given music direction to the plays while the art direction is by H.K. Dwarakanath. Hulagappa Kattimani and Krishna Kumar Naarnakaje have designed costumes and Sagoy Raju has given lighting.
