Shambhavi renders devotional songs at a concert in Belgaum

Belgaum: A good number of music lovers turned up for the special concert featuring singer Shambhavi of “Edu Thumbi Haadidenu” fame, a show presented by a Kannada channel, here on Tuesday.

First runner-up

Shambhavi, who was adjudged first runner-up on the show, appears to have quite a following already.

The show was hosted by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam.

Shambhavi was in Belgaum for the concert organised as part of the programmes held during “Adhikmaasa” at the Chidambareshwar temple.

She rendered devotional compositions and held the audience spellbound.

Shambhavi, who steps into the sixth standard this year, studies at a Kannada-medium government school in Jamkhandi of Bagalkot district.

She has been learning music from her father, Jagannath Desai, who plays the tabla. This was her first public performance in Belgaum.

Jagannath Desai accompanied her on tabla and Parameshwar Teli on harmonium.

Earlier, her uncle Ravindra Desai rendered a few devotional songs.
