A boy sold for money by his parents here has been traced to Kundapur. Police have registered a case against a Mangalore lawyer for mediating in the illegal handover of the boy to a childless couple in last April.

Amid investigation in the sale of two children by their parents, a police team found two-year-old Nikhil from the house of a childless couple, Krishna Acharya and Shanta, on Wednesday. The parents Prema and K. Ratheesh were arrested earlier this month.

The couple, who had no child 11 years after their marriage, told the police they had secured the eight-month old Nikhil after entering into an agreement with his parents.
