To launch various development programmes

BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will tour Shimoga on Sunday and Monday and launch various development works in the district.

He will participate in the birth centenary celebrations of the late Rashtrakavi Kuvempu at Kuppalli in Thirthahalli and inaugurate a Kuvempu Memorial Bhavan on Sunday at 11 a.m. Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly N. Dharam Singh will also participate in the programme.

Later, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stones for a 220 kv power station, a drinking water project and a bus-stand at Siralakoppa in the district.

Mr. Kumaraswamy will lay foundation stones for a lift irrigation project, a bus-stand, and construction works of a bridge (across Kumudwati River) at Shikaripura in the evening.

On Monday, he will inaugurate the Shimoga Advocates' Bhavan in Shimoga and lay foundation stones for a drinking water project, a bridge (across the Tunga river), a building of the Kannada and Culture Department and road works in Shimoga City. In the evening, he will visit the district unit of the Vokkaliga Sangha. He will return to Bangalore in the evening.
