Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday lauded the contribution of the working class as the main sources for substantive growth in production. In a message, he greeted them on International Labour Day and said this year’s workers’ day is meaningful as it is preceded by the birth anniversary of Basaveshwara, who preached ‘Work is worship’.

Extending his best wishes to the people on the occasion of Basava Jayanti, Mr. Siddaramaiah said Basavanna who reformed the society in 12th century, through his simple and meaningful verses.

If the people follow the principles preached by Basavanna, the dream of a casteless, peaceful and progressive society, would come true, he said. — Staff Reporter
