Aahara Samrakshana Abhiyana Samiti has appealed to the State government to take steps to check food wastage, by organising awareness programmes.
Samiti convener N.K. Mohan Kumar told journalists here on Saturday that the samiti had been working for the last three years and had started a campaign in Kushalnagar with the slogan ‘Every one has the right to eat but no one has the right to waste food’. Freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy urged the government to immediately bring in a policy on the issue and levy fine on those wasting food.
