The first-year Pre-University Course syllabus in the State is set to change from next year to match the syllabus prescribed by the Medical Council of India for NEET.

Higher Education Minister V.S. Acharya said on Monday the need had arisen because the syllabus prescribed for NEET differed from the State syllabus in some areas. Citing an example, he said the State syllabus lagged by 104 periods in terms of descriptive teaching when compared with the syllabus prescribed for NEET.
