‘Chamundi’ dies

Chamundi, the 20-year-old tigress of the Tyavarekoppa Tiger and Lion Safari died on Tuesday. Born at Tyavarekoppa Safari in 1993, she had given birth to two cubs in the past. Deputy Conservator of Forest T.J. Ravi Kumar told The Hindu that Chamundi was suffering from posterior paralysis for the last one-and-half years. The number of tigers at the safari has been reduced to 10 after Chamundi’s death.
