Deputy Commissioner Manoj Jain said the annual ‘Chalukya Utsav’ of the district would be held for three days from February 7.
In a release here, he said that due to drought condition in the district, the cultural event was suspended this year. However, the programme would be held next year at the historical Aihole and Badami of Bagalkot district.

Mr. Jain said separate stalls for selling books would be set up at the venue. Competitions at the taluk-level would be organised to identify a district-level team of Bagalkot to participate in the events.
Cultural events with participation from State and national level artists would be held, Mr. Jain said. While at least Rs. 1 crore was required for the event, the district administration would contribute Rs. 62 lakh, and the rest of the amount would be collected through donations and advertisement, the release said.
