In one case, a senior citizen was robbed

She was on her morning walk when it happened

Bangalore: Even as the city police claim steps have been taken to curb chain snatching, three such incidents were reported over the weekend, two on Sunday and one on Saturday.

Two men in an autorickshaw accosted a senior citizen near G.D. Park near Malleswaram here on Sunday and snatched her gold chain worth Rs. 20,000.

The victim is Girijamma Panchakshari (63), residing on Temple Street near Malleswaram 16th Cross, who went for her morning walk at around 5.45 a.m. When she reached the G.D. Park, the men snatched her chain and sped away in their vehicle, said the Vyalikaval police.

The second incident on Sunday was reported in front of the Miranda School in J.B. Nagar. According to the J.B. Nagar police, two men on a motorcycle attacked Latha Shekar, a resident of Thippasandra, at 4.05 p.m. and snatched her chain.

On Saturday, two motorcycle riders attacked a medical student near Government School on Ramamurthy Nagar 1st Main at 7.50 p.m. and snatched her gold chain worth 25,000 and a mobile phone. B. Nandini Balasubrahmanyam (23), a resident of 7th Cross at Brindavan Garden Layout near Horamavu, was on her way home when she was attacked.
