Results of the second round of counselling for the Common Entrance Test (CET) rank holders will be announced by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on Thursday on its web portal at 10.30 a.m.
According to a press statement by the KEA, seats added to the seat matrix for the second round allotment include unfilled seats, cancelled/surrendered seats (as many 526 seats have been surrendered in various courses, according to information available on the KEA website), seats of students who were allotted seats in the first round but did not make the payment (except SC/ST students for medical, dental and engineering/architecture), and newly added seats.
Students who have been allotted seat in the second round have been told that they have to “invariably” report to the allotted colleges by making the payment if they have not paid in the earlier round.
They are required to report to the colleges on or before July 29, 4 p.m.
The press note also added that the fee paid in the earlier round will be adjusted towards the seat allotted in the second round and excess fee, if any, will be refunded to the candidate, or the candidate will have to pay the difference amount if any.
After the payment process, candidates have to download the admission order and report to the college.
Those who report to the college also have to confirm the same to the KEA through their account on the KEA website, failing which the allotted seat will be cancelled even though the student would have physically reported to the college.
Meanwhile, as many as 10,085 engineering seats remained vacant after the second and final round of the counselling of the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK), according to a press release from the consortium.
