N. Cheluvarayaswamy, Nagamangala MLA, on Thursday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged misuse of funds in the State-owned Mysore Sugar Company Ltd. (Mysugar) and Pandavapura Sahakari Sakkare Kharkane in the district.

Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy claimed that a probe by State investigation agencies did not make much headway.

“The Janata Dal (Secular) will request the State government to hand over the case to the CBI,” he said.

Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy said that in view of the high traffic density on the Bangalore–Mysore highway, the State government should make it a six-lane road, in addition to constructing bypass roads or flyovers at Mandya, Maddur, Channapatna and Ramanagaram.

He demanded the disbursal of old-age pension and compensation to people affected by rains in Nagamangala.

He also urged the government to solve problems pertaining to drinking water and power supply in the district.
