Officials from the election expenditure monitoring committee seized unaccounted for Rs. 9.30 lakh in cash from a four-wheeler at Honnigana Halli check-post near in Kanakapura taluk in Ramanagaram district on Tuesday.

Sector Officer for Assembly Elections (Kanakapura) M.V. Venkatesh, in a press release, said that the police are investigating the case.

It is yet to be verified if it was meant for distribution among voters, sources said.

The police are interrogating those who were carrying the cash in the vehicle. They could not produce documents pertaining to the cash, the sources said.
